Ritz-Carlton Offers First Puppy Bo mini-White House
This wet dishrag, believe it or not, is Bo - first puppy aka the new White House dog. The 6 month-old Portuguese water dog was gifted to Sasha and Malia Obama by Senator and Mrs. Kennedy. (Whitehouse photo by Pete Souza)
And he’s already embroiled in a major lobbying scandal. The Ritz-Carlton is hoping to be the first puppy’s real estate developers, and so they have created a custom doghouse.
Washington Post report says that “the luxury hotel commissioned interior decorator Skip Sroka to create a presidential puppy pad. The result: A mini-White House, made of thick white muslin on a wooden frame, with a facsimile of the executive mansion’s exterior hand-sketched in black ink. Inside: a pillowy floor covering in cobalt-blue silk embroidered with gold eagles.”
According to the article, the Ritz, if it pulls off this stunt, hopes to use it as a marketing tool to promote itself as one of the foremost pet-friendly hotels in Washington DC. Good luck with that…
