Sunday Travel Times - Yellow-Yellow Cracks BearVault 500, Camp Hyatt…
What’s even more unbearable than a bear? That’s a bear with smarts and a gross disregard for authority - which is a perfect description for Yellow-Yellow, the smartest bear in the Adirondacks.

Yellow-Yellow - a middle-aged female black bear, has not only cracked the bearproof double-tabbed BearVault BV500, but is also teaching other bears in the Adirondacks how to do it. There are 5000 bears in the Adirondacks.
She cracks open these cannisters in broad daylight and the other Adirondacks bears are now catching on. The BearVault BV500 has been battletested at the Folsom City Zoo in California, where the bears couldn’t crack it.
The BV500 has proven to be effective at most parks with grizzly populations, including Yellowstone. But not in the Adirondacks - because of Yellow-Yellow.
