If you’re planning a hotel stay in California in between Nov 1, 2009 and June 15, 2010, you don’t want to miss the JDV Joie of Life promotion, under which you can get the third night free at 35 boutique hotels in California.

The site also ponders over the exact meaning of joie. So what does it mean? Joie means ‘a new way of looking at joy’ – and explore living joyfully, happily, and exuberantly.

Apparently the meaning of Joie is still open to interpretation, though, and JDV wants you to submit your take on what Joie means.

People are submitting kitschy stuff like ‘Watching a puppy run in the grass’ so if you want to add to JDV’s overflowing cup of joie, then head over to www.joieoflife.com.

You can also enter the Jump for Joie contest, which has prizes including free stays.

There’s a social media section which brings together JDV’s various social media elements and promotions in one place. You can sign up to receive last-minute specials with Joie de Vivre’s Mobile Mondays, Twitter Tuesdays, and Facebook Fridays.

The section also features the new Joie de Vivre blog, YouTube videos, Twitter tweets and Facebook postings.
