Zeitz-geist of Sustainable Travel - Long Run Destinations
The Zeitz Foundation recently launched with a list of 9 sustainable projects - ‘long run’ destinations and resorts that earn their income from tourism or other commercial activities that adhere to the highest standards in promoting social, cultural, and environmental sustainability.

CEO Jochen Zeitz says (h/t to Ondine Cohane, Concierge.com) that the goal of the projects is to balance conservation, community, culture, and commerce…a model that shows how working toward ecosphere safety can be commercially viable.
The nine projects that are part of the Zeitz Foundation’s Long Run Destinations include:-
1. Lapa Rios, Costa Rica
2. Monte Azul, Costa Rica
3. Caiman Ecological Reserve, Brazil
4. Wolwedans, Namibia
5. Chumbe, Tanzania
6. Segera, Kenya
7. Nihiwatu Resort, Indonesia
8. Tahi Beach Resort, New Zealand
9. Wanås Sweden
