No Quid Quaids Want an Apology
Remember all the drama last year over the arrest of the actor Randy Quaid and his wife for allegedly skipping town without settling their hotel bill?
According to Reuters, his wife Evi Quaid expects an apology. From whom? The hotel? Not likely.
The San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara County, which was the complainant, now says that since they got their $10,000, the matter is closed.
The undisputed facts - In June 2009, the Quaids stayed at the San Ysidro Ranch for a week, and piled up a $10k bill, which they did not pay when they left. A complaint was later filed against them, and a warrant issued.
In Sept 2009, the cops visited them at their ranch in Marfa, TX, at which point the Quaids sent in a cashier’s check for half the amount.
Something went wrong at this stage, and the cops came back, arrested the Quaids, and booked them on charges of defrauding an innkeeper. Afterwards, they were arrested again for failure to appear in court.
They have since paid off the entire amount, but they’re due for a hearing in court today. Those were the facts.
The Quaids’ are now demanding an apology for being mistreated by the police, saying it wasn’t their fault and just a mix-up, but what the police did ended up with the Quaids being vilified by the media.
