We found out that the best and cheapest day of the week to eat out on is Tuesday. A lot of restaurants have great deals or even freebies. At Denny’s your kids get to eat for free on Tuesday. For a dollar, load up on tacos at Rubio’s for its “Taco Tuesdays”. And who doesn’t love pizza? Extreme Pizza offers a two for one deal. And yes, it’s on Tuesday. You can’t forget dessert. Baskin-Robbins offers a dollar a scoop on Tuesdays. So here’s how much a family of four would save if they ate out on Tuesday: Almost $40.

Tuesday it is, then. Wonder what’ll happen if a lot of people bump into this little known fact. Will everybody start frequenting restaurants only on Tuesdays? Leaving the restaurants empty on the other days of the week? Would not the restaurants then be forced to cancel the tuesday freebies? And shift it to one of the other days of the week? Ok. All right. Just kidding. Try to limit your foodie outings to Tuesdays and save as much as you can, while not giving up on the simple pleasure of eating out.

From the LA Times - Tijuana tourism plunges admist drug violence.

Tijuana’s recent wave of violence appears to have driven another nail into the coffin of a tourism industry already hobbled by its reputation for tacky tourist traps and rowdy bars and by long waits at the U.S.-Mexico border crossing. Visits are down 90% since 2005, when an estimated 4.5 million came to the area, according to the downtown merchants association. On an average day now, only about 150 tourists show up, the association says.

Moving on, some idiot at LAX who probably thinks he’s Mr. Bean managed to scare everyone out of a terminal at the airport for two hours and more than 1800 passengers on Southwest Airlines and US Airways had their flights delayed. A police bomb squad searched the man and his luggage as he got off the plane but no weapons or explosives were found. It was unclear exactly what the man said and he was taken into custody by the FBI…

That is one of the reasons why you should never crack bomb jokes when on a plane or at the airport….
