Summer Sizzle at The Palazzo Las Vegas
There’s plenty of things to do in Las Vegas this summer, but chances are pretty good that you’ll be end up doing them at a Vegas Sands Corp owned property.
Because The Palazzo Resort & Casino is run by billionare Sheldon Adelson’s Vegas Sands Corp, which also runs the Venetian, in addition to other Casinos.
And they’re offering a ’summer sizzle’ vacation package starting at $159, which includes stay at one of its luxury suites twice the size of an average Vegas hotel room, 50% discount on a bottle of wine with entrée purchase at Morels French Steakhouse & Bistro, 20% discount on the Asian cuisine at Woo, a complimentary mini-facial and makeover with any purchase at Fresh, $25 gaming credit and exclusive suite upgrade specials with savings between $60 to $150 when you upgrade. You have to book (online only) before June 2nd 2008, and the offer is restricted to nine or fewer suites, and $159 per night is for weekdays, while the weekend rate is $199 per night.
In other Palazzo news, they officially opened the pool deck on the 20th May with a VIP brunch and a fashion show hosted by Sex and the City’s Kim Catrall. The fashion show showed off the summer wear from from the top retailers in The Shoppes at The Palazzo. The pools at the Palazzo offer nearly four acres of beautiful pools, four Jacuzzi spas, horticulture and five gorgeous fountains that create a sanctuary for relaxation. In addition to the serene atmosphere, The Palazzo Pool offers services from Canyon Ranch SpaClub and is home to Wolfgang Puck’s second poolside restaurant Solaro. Full press release here.
The 50-story Palazzo, built at a cost of $1.9 billion (see my post about the Palazzo’s grand opening) offers more than 3000 suites, over 60 luxury boutiques for shopping, and a range of cuisines at restaurants run by star chefs, including CarneVino by Mario Batali, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Table 10 by Emeril Lagasse and Restaurant Charlie by Charlie Trotter. Entertainment at the palazzo, in addition to the Casino, includes Jay-Z’s signature 40/40 Club and the Broadway musical Jersey Boys.

This year, travelers will find that all of Vegas is on sale. Because the city has suffered a 7 percent decrease in tourism since last year, hotels are anxious to fill their empty rooms. Savvy travelers should be able to shop around and find big savings at all the major hotels.
