About Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa: Oceanfront resort with direct access to a 1100 feet private beach, an 8000 sq ft tropical lagoon, poolside whirlpool baths, Key West style cabanas featuring showers, television, lounge chairs, radio and celing fans. Also houses a tiki bar on the beach with personal waiters. Additional hotel outlets include a full service spa and fitness center, and spa and resort shops.
The spa is a 20,000-square-foot seaside oasis with 18 private treatment rooms, a private spa pool, sauna, whirlpool, eucalyptus steam rooms, private lockers, health-oriented Spa Caf , fitness center, yoga and Pilates classes and motion studio overlooking the ocean. 3030 Ocean is the hotel’s stylish waterfront seafood restaurant and guests looking for a more casual dining experience can visit the Riva and Cascades restaurants.
The resort offers beach activities, recreation and games for kids aged 5 to 12 under adult supervision. The hotel, along with its 650 guest rooms and suites, has recently been comprehensively renovated at a cost of about $25 million. The new look rooms sport a tropical look, with colors of gold, mango, sand and torquise, a 32″ flat screen televison, soft curved furniture and rooms with balconies enhance the spacious feel. The 35 suites all offer balconies with ocean views.
The grounds of the hotel, and the private beach are usually immaculately maintained, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Service is quick and efficient, and you probably won’t have any complaints about either the hotel, accomodations, the service, amenities or the location. If anything, the resort is a wee bit upscale, and slightly overpriced for the ordinary tourist. A single room with ‘no view’ costs $229 plus taxes. The rooms with views of the city or the ocean are around or more than $300. If you compare these standard online booking rates with the summer package deal, the package actually sounds quite attractive.
The things to do in Fort Lauderdale in the immediate vicinity of the resort include Wannado City, the Museum of Science and Discovery and Imax Theatre, the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame and the Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District in downtown Fortt Lauderdale.
