DHS Wants Stun Collars For Airline Passengers
Its common knowledge that customer service on flights is getting worse, and passengers are being treated like dogs, but we didn’t expect the Department of Homeland Security to make that literally true. Washington Times report says that a DHS official looked into safety bracelet for airline passengers that would serve as a stun device, similar to that of a police Taser®.
According to this promotional video found at the Lamperd Less Lethal website, the bracelet would be worn by all airline passengers. This bracelet would take the place of an airline boarding pass contain personal information about the traveler, be able to monitor the whereabouts of each passenger and his/her luggage, and shock the wearer on command, completely immobilizing him/her for several minutes. Every airline passenger would be tracked by a government-funded GPS, containing personal, private and confidential information, and that it would shock the customer worse than an electronic dog collar if he/she got out of line? - Want some torture with your peanuts?, P Jeffrey Black and Jeffrey Denning, Washington Times, July 8 2008
Speaking of tasers, Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan is suing Choice Hotels International of San Diego, CA, for damages in excess of $25,000 because an off-duty manager tasered him in the neck in April after an argument over whether he should be allowed up to his room. Nothing like a night out with friends, drinking and exploring the wicked things to do in San Diego, and then coming back to your hotel and getting tasered. Kinda like a high, I suppose. You ever been tasered?
