Orbitz is offering a ’Great American Sale’ with 30% off on hotel deals at destinations across the U.S. Book by August 31 for travel by November 24, 2008. In California, Orbitz is offering the 30% discount at the Opal, San Francisco and Rancho Las Palmas, Palm Springs, and a 35% discount for 3+ nights at the Wilshire Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles, in addition to others.

Here’s a featured list of participating hotels in the Orbitz promotion for California. In addition to hotels in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Palm Springs, the list includes some Sacramento hotels and some in San Jose.

But if a measly 30% off doesn’t sound attractive enough, you can do what a 22 year old North California girl named Jocelyn Kirsch who was a Drexel University senior majoring in international area studies and her 25 year old boyfriend, Edward Anderton, did. They simply cooked up complex schemes to steal the identities of friends and neighbours in Philadelphia, and enjoyed costly vacations, luxury hotels and treatments at upscale spas with over $116,000 in stolen money. Police came to know of the scheme when a neighbour of the couple recieved a package she did not order. And there’s hot photos of the outlaws in bikinis and living it up in the Caribbean, Paris and Hawaii. What? They were probably researching for her course on international area studies.

Ahh.. One mistake and your entire scheme goes up in smoke. If you know me, and have been recieving any pizzas or Chinese you didn’t order, I did not use your identity.
