Romance at The Del & Canadian Love Boats
There are some places which are made for love, where you might say that romance is in the air, where you simply can’t help falling in love. And that’s exactly what the Hotel Del Coronado, San Diego CA, has going for it - A history of romance, and a place of unmatched beauty with sun-drenched beaches, moonlit ocean views, a spectacular setting, dreamy restaurants with impeccable service and award-winning cuisine.
And they’re not shy about touting their creds as one of the foremost romantic hotels in California. In fact, the Del just came up with a ‘Fall in Love’ fall package. Includes 2 nights accommodations, $150 resort credit redeemable for spa, dining or shopping. Rates from $340 per night (2 night minimum stay required, taxes and resort charge extra). Valid September 1 to November 20, 2008. More details on the hotel’s website here - www.hoteldel.com/; Photo courtesy - Hotel del Coronado.
Moving from romance to sex, it seems that the Canadians are all at sea. A survey by Tripharbour.ca and Leger Marketing reveals that a large number of Canadians prefer doing it at sea - 3 million, to be exact (that’s 12% of the adult population). That’s what I meant in the title. Actually should have been ‘Canadians love boats’, but that’s what we call artistic license.
Anyway, the survey says that 44% of Canadians who went on a cruise ended up having sex. More than 1 in 10 of those surveyed suggested they would rather have sex at sea than at land-based resorts. And they’re also very um… experimental, when it comes to sea at sea. Canadians aged 35 and younger are 67 per cent more likely to imagine having sex in a life boat, pool/hot tub, and on the bridge. In addition, nearly two-thirds of men surveyed fantasize about having sex outside of the cabin.
